DISCOVER THE ISLAND

Siargao caters for everyone. Exploring the islands beaches is just the start of the islands beauty. From North to South and East to West, explore the coast, wander through the rice field and meet the locals living in the small villages, natural marvels and cultural experiences will leave you with vivid and colourful memories.

Pacifico is located center-east on the island and is a place that commands ooh's and ahh's for it expansive white sand beach and clear waters. It's a quiet bay off the beaten track which offers an authentic island experience, not over-run by visitors as in the south, the local culture is still prevalent and sure to charm you. A five minute stroll along the beach will have you arrive in the barangay (village), the heart and soul of the bay.

From Pacifcio Beach Resort, located at the south tip of Pacifico, you can reach any place on the island in less than and hours drive, a great place to set up base camp. With the motorbikes available to rent, let's see where you can go from here:

Going North...
A 10 minutes drive north will take you to Burgos, a bigger village with his own beach charm and surf break. Enjoy incredible views as you come down from the hill range. Ask for the local homemade patty burger, famous in the town. Proceeding north, you will rapidly reach the tip of the island with a splendid view of the ocean rolling out on both side of the island.

Continuing along the ocean road you will pass TakTak falls, where locals and tourist bath together under the fresh falling water, before arriving in the bigger fishing towns of Santa Monica and San Benito where you can stop at the bakery and stock up on snacks.

Going West...
Crossing the island from east to west, you will pass many small villages scattered in between rice fields and coconut plantations. The main town on the West-cost is Del Carmen, it's the oldest town of Siargao and you can feel it by the monumental church standing in the centre of the town. Del Carmen represents the cultural capital of the island with its university and library. It's a nice place to hang out by day and night. It's also a great spot to take a Mangrove River Tour where there has been sighted saltwater crocodiles...

The port of Del Carmen has two daily ferries to Surigao city. ( ask us for the up-to-date ferry details). Also important to note, Del Carmen is one of the rare place where you will find an ATM machine.

Going South...
The south is home of the 2 main cities of the island, Dapa and General Luna (GL).

Dapa is the capital city, it's a bustling place where you will find a bit of everything. A mix of veggie vendors, clothes sellers, street food and the bustling fish market. All this interlacing with the local Drugstore and... the second stop for ATM machine's of the island.

General Luna (GL) is the most known city, it's the tourist hub with lots of resorts, bars and the famous Cloud 9 surf spot. It's also the place to if you want diving or kite surfing.
On your way south, before reaching those cities, there is some "must see" where you have to stop. A few miles south of Pacifico is the famous Magpupungko Rock Pools & Hanging Rock: next to the roaring open ocean stands transparent pools where you can bath in tranquility and snorkel freely. Make sure you go during low tide or the pool won't be accessible. Continuing your way south, you can stop at Tayangban Cave to explore. There is a small cave, easily accessible with bats and running water that give you quite a rush of adrenaline while still being really safe.
